Challenge
How can we help people new to New York City find a community? What opportunities are there for them to meet other like-minded folks with whom they have things in common?
Problem
*People new to New York City face problems building and
maintaining meaningful connections while also juggling the
many other challenges that come with being new to a city.
*They need diverse, convenient, and accessible ways to find like-
minded people and build community.
*They have busy schedules or lack avenues and networks through which they can access spaces to build connections.
* Many feel uncomfortable meeting new strangers and feel shared interests or common friends is a good way to make sure the connection comes 'vetted'.

Hi-Fi Prototype
Solution
Togethr is an extension that can be integrated with pre-existing platforms to help the user connect with like-minded users.
In the current version, Togethr works with EventBrite to help users find people in their organization interested in the same event.
The prototype asks the user for a quick three step login before it integrates with EventBrite. On the chosen event, it shows other people from the user's organization (NYU) who are also attending the same event. It allows you to invite friends to the event and gatherings. It also shows people who attended previous gatherings/events that the user went to, making it easy to build connections and form a community.
